Greetings my brothers and sisters in Christ. Welcome to St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Parish. If you are visiting or returning, welcome and Peace be with You! I hope that you will find St. Catherine of Siena parish, first and foremost a place to pray and to fall in love with Our Lord Jesus Christ. If you like to pray alone, you will find welcomed silence in the Perpetual Adoration Chapel and if you like to pray with others, you will find many devotional groups who will welcome you into their prayer. It is my greatest hope that you will find your deepest prayer in the celebration of Holy Mass where we gather together each day to perpetuate the Lord's Sacrifice and continue his redeeming work through the Eucharist. Our patroness, St. Catherine of Siena said; "If you are who you should be, you will set the world ablaze". It is my prayer that you will discover and rediscover who God calls you to be. I trust that in His call you will find your deepest peace, your most noble pursuits, your highest good and your greatest joy. If I can be of any assistance, please call on me or any of our staff. Welcome!
Ash Wednesday, February 17, 2010 and Good Friday, April 2, 2010, are days of fasting and
abstinence. Fridays of Lent are also days of abstinence.
Fasting is to be observed by all 18 years of age and older, who have not yet celebrated their 59th
birthday. On a fast day one full meal is allowed. Two other meals, sufficient to maintain strength,
may be taken according to each one’s needs, but together they should not equal another full meal.
March 7, 2010 -Third Sunday of Lent
The parable in today’s Gospel clearly warns that we, like the fig tree, will be judged by our
fruit. While God mercifully provides us with time and opportunity, let us give witness to our
faith with deeds of kindness and generosity!
There will be training sessions for parishioners interested in becoming Eucharistic Ministers of Holy Communion on the following dates:
Wednesday, March 24th at 7:00PM and
Saturday, June 26th at 9:00AM.
Saint Catherine of Siena has adopted February 19th & March 13th to stand up for the unborn. Please join us in prayer and sign up for an hour or more with the parish.
You are invited to take part in the national 40 Days for Life campaign to end abortion which will start February 17th (Ash Wednesday) and end March 28th (Palm Sunday). Please make 40 Days for Life part of your Lenten prayers and fasting and volunteer to pray the pro-life rosary with fellow parishioners outside of the abortion clinic (Women's Health Organization of Raleigh 3613 Haworth Dr. Raleigh) for one or more hours.
The 37th National March for Life was held on January 22, 2010 in Washington DC.
Two chartered buses departed from Saint Catherine's in the early morning and traveled to our nations capital in support of the protection of natural life. The march was preceded by Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Masses were celebrated throughout the day with the North Carolina Mass being celebrated by Bishop Jugis of Charlotte, and the homily given by Bishop Burbidge. Priests and seminarians from the diocese were also in attendance.

The 2010 Bishop's Annual Appeal is currently being presented to the parishes in the Raleigh Diocese. If you would like to view the 2010 BAA Video please visit the Diocese of Raleigh website at http://www.dioceseofraleigh.org or to simply view the video, click here.
